A man in his 20s has been arrested after an incident of criminal damage at a property in Shanakiel and a road traffic collision on the Churchfield Rd in Cork on Friday, August 23rd.

He is currently detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 at a garda station in the southern region.

The male pedestrian in his 60s who was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment following the collision, remains in hospital in a serious condition.

Gardaí continue to appeal to anyone with information in relation to the incidents, or to road users with video footage, to contact them.
