Man charged after criminal damage and attempted arson to properties in Donegal

A man has been arrested and charged after a number of incidents of attempted arson and criminal damage to properties in St. Johnston, Co. Donegal on Wednesday night.

He is scheduled to appear before a special sitting of Letterkenny District Court on Thursday evening.

At approximately 9.45pm, gardaí received reports of criminal damage to a property in St. Johnston.

A second report of criminal damage occurred later in the night and gardaí conducted a search of the area.

A man, aged in his 20s was arrested a short distance from the scene. He is currently being held in a Garda station in Donegal.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
