Two men were arrested following public order, criminal damage and dangerous driving incidents that occurred between Tallaght, Dublin 24, and the M50 southbound on Saturday morning, August 24th.

A number of vehicles were set on fire in the Brookfield Rd area of Tallaght, and a number of Garda units responded to incidents there.

Public order units were deployed to manage the situation, and no injuries were reported at the time.

During an incident of dangerous driving, an attempt was made to ram an official Garda vehicle, a statement said.

The air support unit, public order unit, divisional traffic and several units from the south and east Dublin metropolitan regions provided assistance in finding the vehicle, which was located in the Co Wicklow area.

The two arrested men are currently detained at a Garda station in the Dublin area.

Investigations are ongoing.
