A man in his 20s is being questioned following multiple incidents including a hit-and-run in Cork.

A gun was also seized on Friday evening.

Shortly before 6pm, gardaí were called to a criminal damage incident at a house in the Shanakiel area.

A gun was seized by officers at the scene.

Not long after, at around 6.10pm, a motorbike was involved in a crash with a pedestrian on the Churchfield Road.

The two riders failed to remain at the scene.

The pedestrian was taken to Cork University Hospital (CUH) to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A man in his 20s has since been arrested, and is being questioned at a Garda station in the south of the country.
