Gardaí have appealed for witnesses following a serious assault that occurred in Mullingar early on Monday, August 5th.

A man in his 30s was taken to Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar after he was seriously assaulted on Oliver Plunkett St in the town.

He remains in serious condition.

Gardaí appeal to anyone who witnessed the assault, and to anyone who may have been in the vicinity of Oliver Plunkett St, Mullingar between 1am and 4am on Monday, August 5th, to come forward.

Anyone with camera footage from the area at that time is also encouraged to provide it to investigating Gardaí.
