Body of woman discovered on beach in Waterford

The body of a woman has been discovered on Tramore Beach in Co Waterford.

It is believed the body washed ashore having been in the water, and the discovery was made by a person out walking at seven on Monday morning.

Emergency services were tasked to the scene and gardaí confirmed that a body had been discovered.

A garda spokesperson said that they are “investigating all the circumstances” following the discovery of a woman’s body earlier this morning at the promenade in Tramore, Co.Waterford.

The woman’s body has been removed from the scene and brought to Waterford University Hospital (WUH). The local coroner has been notified.

“The results of post-mortem examinations and local enquiries will determine the course of Garda investigations,” the spokesperson added.

The woman has yet to be identified.
