There are 298 patients waiting for a bed at Irish hospitals on Friday morning.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation's (INMO) Trolley watch figures show 214 patients were waiting in emergency departments, while 84 are in wards elsewhere in the hospital.

There are 67 of those patients based at University Hospital Limerick, 44 at University Hospital Galway and 34 at Cork University Hospital.
