A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash with a car in Co Down.

The rider who died was a man in his 50s.

The collision happened on the Killyleagh Road in Downpatrick at around 4pm on Sunday.

Police have appealed for witnesses and made a specific appeal to two other motorcyclists who were on the road at around the same time.

PSNI inspector Cherith Adair, from the Collision Investigation Unit, said: “We are appealing for witnesses to the collision to come forward.

“We are particularly keen to hear from two other motorcyclists travelling along the same road around the time of the collision.”
