A man has been charged with murder following a fatal assault in Tallaght in Dublin.

A man in his 20s, Jordan Ronan, died in the incident in Drumcairn Avenue in the early hours of Friday morning.

36-year-old Patrick Murphy of Drumcairn Parade, Tallaght, was charged with murder before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Saturday evening.

He was granted legal aid, and has been remanded in custody to appear in court again next Wednesday.
