Two men have been arrested and charged after €977,000 worth of drugs were seized in Dublin over the weekend.

A man in his 30s was arrested in Tallaght in a stop and search of a vehicle in Tallaght.

During the course of the search gardaí seized a quantity of cannabis herb and €800 in cash.

During follow-up operations, two premises were searched under warrant in Tallaght and Lucan.

Quantities of cannabis herb, cannabis resin and cannabis plants with an approximate value in excess of €900,000, along with various drug paraphernalia, were seized.

Following the searches, a man in his 40s was arrested.

The drugs will now be subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland.

Both men have since been charged in relation to these seizures and appeared before Tallaght District Court on Monday morning.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
