A man has been charged with the alleged fatal assault of Padraig O’Connor, in Castleisland, Co. Kerry.

Mr O’Connor was allegedly attacked on Friday morning.

The man in his 40s, who was arrested as part of this investigation, is due to appear before a special sitting of Killarney District Court on Saturday night.

Gardaí continue to appeal to anyone who has any information on the murder of Padraig O’Connor to contact Tralee Garda Station on 066 710 2300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
