Motorcyclist (20s) dies in two-vehicle collision in Bandon

A young man has died following a two-vehicle collision in Co Cork involving a motorbike and a car.

The incident happened at around 11am at Curravarahane in Bandon.

A motorcyclist, a man aged in his 20s, was fatal injured in the collision.

His body has been taken to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will be carried out in the coming days.

Gardaí said no other injuries were reported from the incident and the road in Bandon has since reopened following the conclusion of a forensic examination.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or those with camera (including dash-cam) footage from the area, have been asked to come forward.
