Teenager dies in workplace incident in Cavan

A teenage boy has died following a workplace incident in Co Cavan.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene shortly after 4.30pm on Thursday afternoon.

The 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

His remains have been taken to a mortuary in Cavan, and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out.

Gardaí said the Health and Safety Authority has been notified of the incident and a file will be prepared for the Coroner's Court.
