Two men have been arrested after €120,000 of MDMA was seized by gardaí in Castlebar, County Mayo.

The MDMA was seized following a search, under warrant, of a premises in Castlebar.

A further 0.5 kg of suspected MDMA with an estimated value of €30,000 along with a small quantity of cash were also seized by gardaí.

Two men, aged in their 20’s, were arrested by An Garda Síochaná, and are currently detained at a Garda station in County Mayo under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996.

The drugs seized will now be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for analysis.

Investigations are ongoing.
