Woman (60s) dies in single-vehicle crash in Co Meath

A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash in Co Meath.

The woman aged in her 60s was the driver and sole occupant of the car which crashed on Main Street in Ratoath at around 1am on Monday.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her remains have since been taken to the mortuary at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out.

Main Street in Ratoath has been closed to traffic while a technical examination of the scene takes place, with local diversions in place.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who has camera footage from the area between 12.45am and 1am to come forward.
