A man is being treated in hospital following a single vehicle collision in Co Clare this afternoon.

Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene after a car struck a barrier on the N85 Ennis Bypass at 12:40pm.

A man in his 40s was taken to University Hospital Limerick where he remains this afternoon.

The road is currently closed, and local diversions are in place.

Investigations are ongoing.
