A man has been injured following an assault in Finglas, County Dublin, in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The incident happened on Cardiffsbridge Road in Finglas.

The man in his 40s was removed from the scene by ambulance to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown where he is being treated for his injuries, which are nonlife threatening.

Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
