A man arrested in connection with an incident at Parnell Square in Dublin city on Tuesday has been charged.

The man aged in his 30s was arrested on Tuesday over an alleged incident of threatening behaviour.

Gardaí confirmed he was arrested for alleged offences under the Firearms and Offensive Weapons Act 1990, and subsequently charged.

He is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Wednesday morning.

Gardaí said investigations into the matter are ongoing.
