A man has been arrested in connection with an endangerment incident in Dublin on Monday, which left a garda injured after being hit by a car.

The incident took place when a number of Garda units responded to an apartment complex in Castleknock, shortly before 1am on Monday.

A car that was attempting to avoid gardaí ended up colliding with a garda.

The garda was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been discharged but remains off duty.

On Friday morning, a man in his 30s was arrested in connection with the incident.

He is currently being detained at a Garda station in the Dublin region.
