A motorcyclist has been seriously injured following a collision in Cork city.

The incident involving a car and a motorcycle occurred at around 9pm on Monday evening on Courtown Drive.

The motorcyclist, a man in his late teens, was taken to Cork University Hospital with serious injuries.

No other injuries were reported from the incident.

Courtown Drive remains closed with local diversions in place while a technical examination is being conducted.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses of the collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Courtown Drive area between 8.45pm and 9.15pm on Monday are asked to make the footage available to gardaí.
