Two men and a juvenile were arrested following the seizure of a number of offensive weapons following the search of a vehicle in Co Longford on Sunday night.

Gardaí stopped and conducted a search of the car on the Athlone Road, Ballymahon, Longford.

Two men, aged in their 20s, and a male juvenile were arrested at the scene and were detained at a Garda Station in Longford.

They have since been charged and will appear before Longford District Court on Tuesday morning.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
