The weekend is set to see the warm weather continue as Met Éireann are forecasting highest temperatures of 22 degrees.

The forecaster said Thursday will be mainly dry for the rest of the day with good sunny spells.

It will turn cloudy at times, making the sunshine rather hazy with the best of the bright spells across Leinster and Munster.

A little sea fog may affect south and east coasts at times. Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees generally in light winds, a little cooler near coasts.

A cloudy or patchy mist and fog, will give way to a dry and mostly sunny day on Friday.

Highest temperatures of 18 to 22 degrees in light to moderate south or southeast breezes, warmest inland.

It will be a little cooler near south and southeast coasts due to onshore breezes and there is a chance of sea fog drifting inland here at times.

The forecaster said it will be mostly dry, settled and warm through to Saturday.

Turning more unsettled from the Atlantic later Saturday into Sunday with rain and showers returning. Cooler too into early next week.

Saturday will be another mostly dry day with mist and fog clearing early on Saturday morning.

Plenty of warm sunshine once again, although it will turn cloudier in the Atlantic coastal counties during the afternoon with the chance of patchy rain or showers developing there during the evening.

Highest temperatures of 17 to 21 degrees, warmest inland, in light to moderate southerly breezes.

Current indications suggest Sunday will bring a mix of cloud and sunny spells with showers or longer spells of rain, some heavy with the chance of isolated thunderstorms. Highest temperatures of 15 to 19 degrees in light and variable breezes.

Monday will bring further outbreaks of rain or showers, some heavy with a chance of thunderstorms. Highest temperatures of 13 to 17 degrees with light to moderate northerly breezes developing, possibly fresh near some coasts.

Low pressure looks set to dominate the weather pattern into midweek with periods of rain or showers with some heavy and thundery falls possible.

Potentially becoming drier later in the week. Temperatures look likely to trend close to or a little below average.
