A woman aged in her 20s has died after being hit by a truck while cycling in Dublin.

The collision took place at the junction of the Glenageary Road Upper, Mountown Road Lower and Kill Avenue in Dun Laoghaire at 8am on Wednesday.

The woman was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital but she died from her injuries.

The road has been closed pending a technical examination of the scene and local diversions are in place.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to the collision, or anyone with camera footage, to come forward.
