Two men have been arrested after €890,000 of cannabis plants and herbs was seized in Galway City.

The drugs were seized during the search of a property on Friday morning, where a large-scale cannabis cultivation operation was discovered.

Cannabis plants and cannabis herb with an estimated street value of €890,000 was seized by investigating gardaí. All drugs are now subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

The two men in their 20s were arrested and are currently being held at a Garda station in the north west region.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
