Man arrested after €1.1m of cannabis seized at Dublin Port

A man has been arrested after €1,106,000 of cannabis was seized at Dublin Port on Wednesday afternoon.

Revenue officers discovered 55 kilograms of herbal cannabis concealed within a consignment of bottled water and garden supplies found in a van arriving from the UK.

The man in his 50s was arrested at the scene and is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act, 1996, at a Garda station in Dublin, where he can be held for up to seven days.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
