A woman is in a critical condition in hospital after being knocked down by a van in Ringsend in Dublin.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the serious collision that happened at the junction of Cambridge Road and Thorncastle Street shortly before 8pm on Wednesday morning.

The woman, who is in her 50s, was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.

Anyone who was in the area at the time and has video footage is being asked to contact Gardaí.
