Gardaí have launched an investigation after the body of a man was discovered in Monaghan.

Gardaí were alerted to the body at approximately 7.50am in Dunsinare, Monaghan Town on Wednesday morning.

The man’s body remains at the scene, and will be removed for post-mortem examination in due course, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation.

The scene is currently preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
