Three men arrested after firearms and ammunition seized in Kildare

Three men have been arrested after a vehicle was intercepted containing firearms and ammunition in Kildare.
The operation was carried out on Saturday morning by the Garda National Drugs & Organised Crime Bureau supported by the Emergency Response Unit.
In the search of the vehicle, a M1911 Handgun, G3 Rifle and 40 rounds of ammunition were seized.
The three men, aged aged 19, 20, and 21, were arrested in relation to possession of firearms and are being detained in Garda stations in Kildare.
Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
