Gardaí have seized cannabis herb with a combined value of €540,000 following searches in Co Cork and Co Limerick on Friday, a man in his 30s was arrested in connection with the seizures.

An estimated €300,000 worth of cannabis herb was seized by gardaí in Cork following the search of a vehicle in Mallow on Friday afternoon.

Follow-up searches carried out by the Limerick Divisional Drugs Unit in Balysheedy led to the seizure of cannabis herb valued at €240,000.

All the drugs seized will be sent to Forensic Science Ireland for further analysis.
