A cyclist has died following a collision in Kinsealy in Dublin.

The man in his 40s was brought to Beaumont Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.

The incident involving the bike and a car happened on the Malahide Road shortly before 9.30am on Sunday morning.

Gardaí said no other injuries were reported from the incident.

The road has been closed to facilitate a forensic examination.

Any witnesses to the collision have been asked to come forward.
