Gardaí appeal for witnesses after aggravated burglary in Mayo

Gardaí in Co Mayo are appealing for witnesses following an aggravated burglary at a residence in Killasser, Swinfordon Monday evening.

Two people entered the property in Killasser armed with what is understood to have been a knife some time between 7pm and 7.30pm, threatening the male occupant of the house.

Gardaí said no injuries were sustained during the course of the incident.

A number of items were stolen from the house, and the suspects fled the scene in the homeowner’s vehicle. The stolen vehicle was recovered on Monday evening in Coolaney, Co Sligo.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have information in relation to the incident to come forward. They are particularly interested in any information on the movements of a 2004 Toyota Land Cruiser travelling in area on Monday evening.
