Irish firm to develop world's tallest moving statue for US mall

An Irish company has been chosen for a partnership with a mall in the US which will see them develop the world's tallest moving statue.

Dublin firm Giant Company Attractractions will create the installation, to be named The Giant, at the American Dream Mall in East Rutherford, New Jersey, which is the second-largest mall in the US.

The attraction will feature a 16.5-metre tall statue, which will be shaped like a human, complete with a skin of LEDs and moveable head and arms.

The statue's patented LED and scanning technologies will bring The Giant to life, transforming it into the likeness of a real person.

Visitors will be able to have an avatar of themselves scanned at the exhibition, which then can be displayed on The Giant.

The statue will also take centre stage in an hourly show, transforming into notable figures of the past and present.

Giant Attractions added it is also "exploring select sites in Ireland to develop a bespoke Giant visitor attraction for the residential and tourist market".

The exhibition in the American Dream Mall is expected to open in January 2025.
