A man has died after a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on the M1.

The incident occurred on the early hours of Sunday morning on the M1 Northbound near Junction 5 in Lusk.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries to people have been reported.

The M1 Northbound from Junction 4 to Junction 5 is currently closed with local diversions in place. A technical examination by Forensic Collision Investigators will be conducted.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling on the M1 Northbound between Junction 4 and 5 between 3:15am and 4:15am are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
