Gardaí attend scene after man wielding machete enters jewellers in Waterford

Gardaí are currently at the scene of an incident in Waterford after a man entered a jewellers wielding a machete in Waterford.

The incident occurred at around 5pm on Wednesday evening, when the man is believed to have entered Hallmark Jewellers in the centre wielding what’s believed to have been either a machete or large knife.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who have may have seen a man wielding a large knife or someone running from the scene to contact them. Waterford Garda Station can be contacted in confidence on 051 305300.

Gardaí say investigations are currently ongoing.
