Gardaí seized two firearms, ammunition, €35,000 worth of drugs and €2,365 in cash following a search operation in Castleisland, Co Kerry on Sunday.

As part of Operation Tara, Gardaí attached to the Kerry Divisional Drugs Unit carried out a search operation at a residence in the area.

In the course of the operation, two firearms and ammunition, cocaine with an estimated street value of €35,000 and €2,365 cash was seized.

The drugs seized are subject to analysis by Forensic Science Ireland (FSI).

A man in his 40s was arrested as part of the investigation and is currently detained at a Garda Station in Co Kerry.
