A fire at a disused factory site near Naas, Co Kildare has been brought under control by local firefighters.

The site is located off the N7, near the Perpetual Motion sculpture.

The alarm was raised shortly after 11am on Friday.

A number of Naas-based fire units attended the scene and brought the blaze under control.

No injuries were reported from the fire.

Friday's fire at the site follows a blaze in 2012 which gutted the majority of the building.

It is understood the site was recently being used by a number of rough-sleepers.
