St Stephen's Day weather: Met Éireann issues warning for heavy rain in two counties

Met Éireann has issued a warning for heavy rain in Cork and Kerry on St Stephen's Day.

The six-hour alert will come into effect at 8pm.

The forecaster said there will be thundery and blustery rain in Cork and Kerry on St Stephen's night, leading to localised flooding.

More generally, St Stephen's Day will be cool and crisp in the morning with low winter sunshine.

However, rain will arrive into Munster in the afternoon and spread further north through the evening. Temperatures will peak between 4 and 8 degrees.
