A teenager has died after a road crash in Co Sligo.

A van and a car were involved in the crash on the Ballymote to Tubbercurry Road at about 11:40am on Wednesday.

Gardaí said a male teenager, who had been driving the car, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A man who was driving the van was not injured.

Gardaí have appealed for witnesses or those with camera footage, including dash-cam, to contact them at Ballymote Garda Station on 071 918 9500, the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
