Approved Housing Body (ABH) Respond has approved plans to build 2,906 new housing units across Dublin in a series of large-scale mixed-tenure developments.

The developments will be built in areas throughout Dublin, including 590 units in Charlestown, 502 in Tallaght, 318 in Clonburris, and 397 in Donaghmede.

Respond confirmed 1,378 cost-rental homes will be delivered as part of the projects, with the remainder being social housing units.

The homes are expected to be completed by September 2024, with 1,508 units already under construction.

Commenting on the announcement, Minister for Housing Darragh O'Brien said Respond's development plans resonate with the Government's Housing for All plan, "which seeks a future where every citizen has access to quality, affordable housing".

"The Government is committed to supporting and collaborating with organisations like Respond, who are at the forefront of tackling our housing challenges and making a tangible difference in the lives of thousands of people," the Minister added.
