Two men arrested in connection with the seizure of €8 million worth of heroin at Weston Airport have been charged in relation to the incident.

Gardaí and customs officials discovered 60kg of the drug when they searched and intercepted a light aircraft and a vehicle on Friday.

The two men, aged in their 40s and 60s, are due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Monday morning.

Gardaí said investigations were ongoing.
