The man has been remanded in custody and will appear before the High Court next month
Man arrested in Louth following Swedish arrest warrant

A man has been arrested in Co Louth on foot of a Swedish European Arrest Warrant.

The man aged in his 20s was arrested in Dundalk on Sunday by members of the Garda Extradition Unit and Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigations.

The Regional Armed Support Unit was also called in to support the operation.

The man was brought before the High Court on Sunday and remanded in custody to appear before the court again on December 12th.

A statement from Gardaí on the matter added: "As this matter is now before the courts An Garda Síochána will not be providing further comment."
