Five men have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Carlow in December 2022.

Shots were fired at a house in the Laurels Estate on the Tullow Road in Carlow town on December 5th, 2022.

A window to the front of the property was damaged in the incident, but no injuries were reported.

The arrests were made following searches conducted on Monday morning in Carlow, Wexford and Waterford.

The five men – three in their 20s, one in his 30s and one in his 50s – are currently detained at a number of Garda stations in the South East of the country under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act 2007.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
