Man charged in connection with Dublin 7 assault

A man has been arrested and charged in connection with an assault which occurred in Dublin on Saturday night.

A man was injured on Aughrim Street, Dublin 7 at around 11.30pm on Saturday, and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Gardaí said a second man, aged in his 30s, was arrested and detained under provisions of Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

He has since been charged and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice on Monday.
