A man in his 20 has died after a shooting incident in north Dublin this evening.

Emergency services attended the scene of the incident, which occurred shortly before 7pm at a house in the Finglas area.

He was treated by emergency personnel at the scene and removed by ambulance to Connolly Hospital Blanchardstown where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

The scene is currently preserved for forensic and technical examination and the Coroner has been notified.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
