Sally Rooney novels ranked among most popular books of the last decade

Novels penned by Irish author Sally Ronney have been named among the most popular books of the last decade – according to a new list by Goodreads.
The website, which enables readers to enter their own reviews, revealed the 76 top reads from the last 10 years, determined by how many members had marked it as ‘read’, ‘currently reading’, or ‘want to read’.
Novels, self-help books, historical fiction, thrillers and memoirs from well-known writers from across Ireland, the UK, the US, Japan and more all feature on the list.
Following their widespread international success, Rooney's Normal People, Beautiful World Where Are You, and Conversations With Friends made the list.
The controversial memoir of Britain's Prince Harry, Spare – which for the first time tells his own story about self-examination, relationship with his family, and dealing with grief – also featured towards the end of the list.
The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo by American writer Taylor Jenkins Reid – a novel about an ageing former Hollywood star who decides to give her final interview to an unknown journalist – scored first place.
Hit thriller The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins took the second top spot (the book was turned into a film starring Emily Blunt), while Delia Owens’s Where The Crawdads Sing (later turned into a film starring Daisy Edgar-Jones) ranked third.
Memoirs from Michelle and Barack Obama make the list meanwhile, as well as musician Michelle Zauner’s memoir Crying In H Mart, actress Jennette McCurdy’s I’m Glad My Mom Died, and comedian and writer Trevor Noah’s biography Born a Crime.
Celeste Ng’s novel Little Fires Everywhere – which was adapted by American actress and film producer Reese Witherspoon into a TV series she starred in alongside Kerry Washington – as well as Ng’s first book Everything I Never Told You also featured.
Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty – which was also adapted for the small screen by Witherspoon with an A-list cast including Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman, winning Emmys and Golden Globe Awards – made the list too.
Other well-loved titles on the list included Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover; Kiley Reid’s novel Such A Fun Age, about class, privilege, society and racism; Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie; The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett, and Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo.
Raved about self-help books such as Atomic Habits by James Clear and The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A F*ck by Mark Manson made an appearance too.
