A man has been arrested in connection with a seizure of drugs worth €25,000 in Louth on Thursday.

Gardaí conducted a search operation in Dundalk yesterday along with the Dundalk Drugs Unit, with assistance from Dundalk Crime Unit, Regular Unit, Dog Unit, Armed Support Unit, Louth Divisional Search Team, Revenue Customs and the Dog Warden.

During the course of these searches approximately €25,000 of suspected cannabis was seized.

The drugs will be sent for forensic analysis.

Three designer watches and a luxury car were also seized at the property.

In total, in excess of €25,000 worth of controlled drugs, a quantity of cash and in excess of €30,000 in assets were seized.

The man has since been released without charge and a file will be prepared for the DPP.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.
