Three teenagers have been charged in connection with an alleged serious assault on a 14-year-old boy in Co Sligo.

The alleged incident happened at the Apple Green Service Station on Mail Coach Road on Tuesday evening, shortly after 7pm.

The 14-year-old sustained serious injuries and is currently being treated at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.

Two teenage boys were arrested on Wednesday evening, while another was arrested earlier on Wednesday.

The three are due before Sligo District Court on Thursday morning.
