Three men have been arrested in connection to an aggravated burglary in Monkstown.

The arrests come as part of an investigation into an aggravated burglary and false imprisonment that occurred at a residence in Monkstown on August 21st.

A man in his 70s was injured in the incident.

There men, aged in their 20s and 40s, were arrested on Thursday morning and are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984, at Garda stations in South Dublin.

This followed searches by Detective Unit in the Dublin Metropolitan Region (DMR) East with assistance from uniform gardaí, the Emergency Response Unit and Armed Support Unit.

Investigations are currently ongoing.
