A 47-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder after a pensioner was stabbed in Co Down.

The man in his 70s was found with stab wounds in the Main Street area of Newcastle on Thursday.

The suspect is due to appear before Newtownards Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
