Man appears in court in relation to serious assault in Waterford

A man has appeared in court, charged in relation to an alleged serious assault in Waterford.
It happened at Merchant's Quay at around 9:10pm last night.
A man in his 40s was brought from the scene to University Hospital Waterford, where his condition is described as serious but stable.
The man in his 20s who was arrested appeared before the courts this afternoon.
